Fashion is My Passion
Fashion is a way for me to express myself. I love that I can think of something and then bring it to life visually. Just like people express themselves by singing, photography, poetry or even playing sports, I express myself with the artistry of fashion. It’s a place I can go and be creative and be myself. I can be centered with my thoughts and free my mind. I love that I can express myself in this type of way.
Before, I never thought it was a gift from God because, to me, gifts from God were more so singing, playing instruments, production – anything along those lines. But as I got older and deeper into the Word, I saw that fashion was my passion and my gift. It wasn’t just a phase in my life. It’s something that I am very much interested in and it comes naturally to me without even thinking twice. It’s what I call my “happy place” and now I see that it is a gift from God himself.
“Whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” (1 Corinthians 10:31)
With fashion, I can reach people from all over the world in different walks of life and inspire them to look good and feel good – which is something that I love. I’m glad I can be an inspiration and a light to this world which can, at times, be dark and lonely.
One of my favorite, go-to verses is “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13). I love that scripture because it not only gives me hope, but it assures me that with Christ on my side, I can conquer anything that comes my way. It keeps me motivated in difficult times because I know that I can and will overcome anything.
Along with scripture and fashion, I stay grounded and motivated in my aspirations and know that with the gifts God has given me, I can do great things in His Kingdom and in this world.
