Teammate Spotlight: Meet Stacey H.!

team Jesus

Teammate: Stacey H.
Nominated by: Kaitlyn H.

team jesus magazineNomination:

I would like to nominate my mother.  She is always doing things for others, always putting herself aside for the kingdom.  Every day she rights devotionals for the church, which helps people including many teens on Instagram.  I asked why she did this and she said there was so much wrong information and negativity on the Internet that she wanted Jesus’ name to come up under any topic.

My 14-year-old brother had open heart surgery this year, and every day she still did them while sitting in the hospital with him.  She drops things off on people’s doorsteps who need encouragement and they never know where it came from.  Every year for her birthday, she makes almost 100 handmade items such a candles, bath soaps, etc. and she hands them out to random people.  Love her heart!!!

How Does Stacey Run The Play?

Romans 12:7-9 (ERV):

Whoever has the gift of serving should serve. Whoever has the gift of teaching should teach. Whoever has the gift of comforting others should do that. Whoever has the gift of giving to help others should give generously. Whoever has the gift of leading should work hard at it. Whoever has the gift of showing kindness to others should do it gladly.

Great job, Teammate! God bless you!

Now, how can you be inspired to follow Stacey’s lead?

Leave your thoughts and encouragement below in the comments.

The World’s Most Amazing Love Letter

love letter

I’ve been chatting with you ladies every other Wednesday for a few months now, and I’ve attempted to be transparent. But, it’s time I come out the closet.

I can be a “Martha”.

You know, working, working, working and missing out on some of the moments I’m actually working for.

You, too? Come give me a hug, girl – we’re in this together!

Like you, I have good reasons for working so hard. I’m raising Godly girls, building a legacy, maintaining a home, nourishing a marriage, and so desperately trying not to skimp on my self-care and physical fitness. Not to mention quality time with friends and family, maintaining business relationships, and being available when the Holy Spirit nudges me to go, do, and be the hands and feet of God.

It’s a worthy list, but that doesn’t make it any less tiring. It certainly doesn’t make it more important than spending time at Jesus’ feet.

As you can see, I can take all the help I can get. So, when I read God’s love letter for me this morning, and it was perfect for a talk I’m giving next week, I practically had a sanctified seizure on my couch.

Yes, I am dramatic, and no, I’m not exaggerating. I kicked and squirmed like I had just been given a million dollars. I was in awe of God and how much He loves me.

Is God Winking at You?

I call these God winks.

Allow me to explain.

One day, I was rushing around (as usual – didn’t I say I was a Martha?), and though I had set aside enough time to prepare my food, I didn’t have enough time to sit and eat it. So, I put my plate in the microwave (where I often store food I plan to come back for), and hurried down the hall to get dressed. When I got into the car, guess what was sitting in my cup holders: an aluminum foil wrapped burrito and a thermos of ice cold sweet tea. I looked up at the door and my husband wasn’t there, but if he was, my eyes would have said, “Thank you!” And, his eye would have winked, “I got you.”

That’s what God did to me this morning. I opened up The Daily Message by Eugene H. Peterson, turned to today’s date, and there it was as clear as day: the Bible story that explained what I prepared to say. It was as if God had penned and hand-delivered it just to help me.

The Bible: God’s Personal Love Letters

Can I tell you a little secret?

I’ll bet you have a book of God’s hand-written love letters to you, too. It might be a little dusty, but it’s there.

It’s your Bible.

Maybe you’ve come to dread reading the Bible because it’s a bunch of names, dates, and weird stories. There was a time I felt that way, too!  These simple tips helped me:

  1. Explore different versions.

If you use Bible Gateway to look up scriptures, they have a parallel tool where you can see the verse in a different version. I am partial to the Easy to Read Version (ERV) and The Message (MSG).

  1. Find a preacher that shares the Word in an exciting way.

I love when preachers and teachers are passionate about their subject matter. When a story really resonates with a person, they share it with such compulsion and excitement. My pastor makes the story come alive. It doesn’t sound like an outdated, irrelevant Bible story. It sounds like some of the things you and I are still doing today. This helps me to remember the Word long after the sermon is over, which consequently helps me to apply it.

  1. Pray before you read.

The Devil doesn’t want you to read the Bible, commit it to memory, and use it to enhance your life. If you find yourself always getting sleepy, unable to remember what you just read, or not applying it to your life to create lasting change – ask God to help you.

  1. Expect a solution.

When your phone starts acting up and you go get the manual, you flip through it with expectancy. You are expecting to find the answer to the problem you have. Replace phone with life and manual with Bible. You get, “When your life starts acting up and you go get your Bible, you flip through it with expectancy.” When you read the Bible, you should expect God to speak to you. Don’t read it just to say you did it. Read it because you fully anticipate that there is a tip, a prayer, a story that is the solution to your problem.

So, what’s the play call?

In our efforts to sow and water, sow and water, sow and water, let’s schedule in some time first thing in the morning to read God’s love letters to us. His letter has answers for our lives and for the lives of others.

Nominate a Team Jesus Teammate!

team Jesus

Hey there, Team!

Do you know someone on Team Jesus who deserves a little recognition? They get it. They live it. They’re executing the plays that Coach Jesus calls – e.g. love others, serve others, be cheerful givers, be faithful in your positions, and serve with gladness.

Got a teammate in mind?

We want to hear about them and feature them in a Teammate Spotlight!

God Does Not Play Favorites, Neither Do We!

Some of the BEST players on Team Jesus don’t have a huge following or a major platform. They’re everyday people who love Jesus Christ (for real) and show their love not only in words – but in their actions.

While we all can appreciate and honor the “generals” on Team Jesus, it’s those “boots on the ground”, faithful Teammates working in the trenches without the spotlight or fanfare who also deserve our honor and thanks.

Think about the elderly lady who prays and raises everyone’s children on the block. Who will honor the man who cheerfully cleans the church bathrooms in excellence? What about that friend who always sends you little notes of encouragement right when you need them?

God sees and honors all teammates who faithfully and obediently live to glorify Him. And Team Jesus Magazine wants to do the same!

Teammate Spotlight Giveaways

Participation in Teammate Spotlights has its rewards!

Love Beyond Walls & MAP16: The 648-Mile March for the Poor

    love beyond walls

Teammates Terence and Cecilia Lester wear their hearts on their sleeves; wherever their sleeves go, their love for the poor goes.

So, where can you find this community service-minded couple, who has spearheaded hundreds of creative service projects for the homeless and those less fortunate?

Don’t look behind a corporate desk in a tall skyscraper, or seated within rows of church pews. Try beyond the walls.

In 2013, the Lesters officially launched Love Beyond Walls, an Atlanta-based 501(c)3 non-profit that raises awareness of societal needs through technology and storytelling, and mobilizes people to take part in it.  The purposed growth of Love Beyond Walls, and its service to over 14,000 people is nothing short of God’s grace and love at work.

The smallest donation of a razor, shoes, a meal, or even a place to wash clothes is monumental to those served by Love Beyond Walls. However, these teammates are well-acquainted with going the extra mile in personal sacrifice for the poor and forgotten.

In the cold of December 2014, the world took note as Terence lived as a homeless man on top of a bus for 30-nights straight. The “Get On The Bus” campaign increased awareness for homelessness, and the need to restore hope and dignity to those in under-resourced communities. Now, the Love Beyond Walls Mobile Makeover Bus provides free hair cuts, clothing, and makeovers to those in need.

But, the personal sacrifice doesn’t stop there. Now, in 2016…

The March for Poverty Awareness and the Future Love Center

On August 20, 2016, Terence began the journey of a lifetime – one that would challenge him to his core.

Starting at the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) building in Atlanta, Georgia, Terence set out on a March Against Poverty (MAP16), a 648-mile march to the White House in Washington, D.C.  The overall goal is to end homelessness and raise awareness for the millions of people living in poverty in America.

Now, approximately 12 days in and having reached South Carolina, Terence and the Love Beyond Walls team document the journey on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter – the faces and stories of those impoverished, and many gracious supporters he meets along the way.

    love beyond walls

All efforts lead to the ultimate building of the Love Center.  This 2,000+ square foot, “all-in-one” facility will holistically serve and restore the poor.  Under one roof, those living in poverty can not only find a place to sleep, eat, find or wash clothes, but also be groomed, find employment, receive counseling, and worship.

With major support from the SCLC, Nissan South, churches, and other non-profits, this journey for Terence and Love Beyond Walls will continue to give a voice to those in poverty until they are heard.

What Can I Do to Support MAP16?

    We’re glad you asked!

Love Beyond Walls understands that everyone can’t walk to Washington, D.C. However, everyone can do at least 1 of these 6 easy ways to partner with MAP16.

Visit the Love Center’s GoFundme page for more information on how you can make a small donation with huge impact!

Will you share a prayer in the comments section for MAP16 and Love Beyond Walls? Please keep Terence, Cecilia, and their entire team covered in prayer. Through their many programs and services, serving God by serving the poor will bring glory to the Kingdom of God.

    So, what’s the play call?

Following the example of teammates Terence and Cecilia, what passion for service has God placed in your heart?  Are you afraid to leap? Trust God with all the resources and favor you’ll need; He will bring His vision to pass using your faith and obedience – just take that first step.  And then another. And then…

    March!

Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner: The Apostle Paul – Part 2

    apostle paul

    Hey Team!

In Part 1, my (make-believe) dinner with my Fab Five: Oprah, MJ, Tracee, Michelle, and Paul was unbelievable. Who did you dine with?

As we see in the New Testament, Paul is quite the talker! So, after dinner, we went to Baskin Robbins for some dessert. Here’s what else he had to say:

    6. Just because something is technically legal doesn’t mean that it’s spiritually appropriate. If I went around doing whatever I thought I could get by with, I’d be a slave to my whims. (1 Cor. 6:12, MSG)

I remember going to friends’ houses for sleepovers and having to govern myself according to how I was raised. Some of my friends were allowed to do things that I was not allowed to do. Sometimes, I’d politely decline activities and behaviors that were not allowed in my home and other times I’d enjoy temporarily “breaking the rules”. But, just because I knowingly broke the rules doesn’t mean I had fooled myself into thinking the rules had changed at my house. And, if I did, my grandmother would quickly remind me that I had “better wake up.”

This sleepover we’re at (here on Earth) can last over 100 years. And, while we’re away from our Heavenly Father, it’s easy to forget the morals and values of our home if we don’t make studying them a priority. Even though it’s fun to sometimes break the rules, we must remember that when we return home, we have to answer for our actions.

Have you begun living in a way that is legally acceptable, but spiritually inappropriate?

    7. Don’t you see that you can’t live however you please, squandering what God paid such a high price for? Let people see God in and through your body. No one will get by with vandalizing God’s temple. And you, remember, are the temple. (1 Cor. 3:16-17, MSG)

Man oh man is this so spot on for me, as I’ve struggled with poor eating habits since the womb. Or at least it feels that way. When we don’t take proper care of our bodies, it’s akin to scribbling graffiti on the walls and bridges of Heaven. Would you do that?

How are you treating your body in a way that you wouldn’t treat Heaven?

    8. There is no time to waste, so don’t complicate your lives unnecessarily. Develop a way of life in which you can spend plenty of time together with the Master without a lot of distractions. (1 Cor. 7:29-31, MSG)

Doesn’t this answer so many questions! As an overwhelmed mom, wife & entrepreneur, I’m just like, “God, HOW?!” But, as I begin to start every day with a morning staff meeting (my staff consists of 2 people—me and God), I realize that half of the things I thought were priority are, in fact, not. And, most of the things I never get around to (like quiet time with God, reaching out to a friend who is struggling, and reminding my life group to pray for the requests made earlier in the week) are really the most essential tasks.

These are the things that will pass inspection when Jesus takes a look at what I built for Him while on the Earth (1 Cor. 3-5)

Will the things you put so much effort into matter when you stand before God or are you being distracted?

    9. Don’t be so naïve and self-confident. You’re not exempt. You could fall flat on your face as easily as anyone else. Forget about self-confidence; it’s useless. Cultivate God-confidence. (1 Cor. 10: 11-12, MSG)

Ding! Ding! Ding! A bell just went off in my spirit! My confidence wavers depending on the day or task at hand. But, my confidence in God is always an A plus. You want to grow your confidence? Believe that no matter which way you go, God is going to re-route you. Believe that wherever you fail, God will succeed. Have a chat with God first thing in the morning and ask Him to rule your day. Put your life in God’s hands and you can’t fail.

In what areas have you been relying on yourSELF instead of God?

    10. We want to live well, but our foremost efforts should be to help others live well. (1 Cor. 10:23-24, MSG)

There is an abundance of life coaches today. And, sometimes that frustrates me because I’m one of them. Let me clarify that. It frustrates me when I use self-confidence. But, it’s a very, very beautiful notion when I use my God-confidence. Why? Because when I compare myself to the greats, I wonder what on Earth I can possibly offer? Comparison is the thief of joy. But, when I wake up and say, “God, thank you for the calling to pour into others. Send the people you want me to reach my way. Lord, give me the words to say which will sow a seed deep into their hearts that You will grow into more than their minds could even fathom.” That’s me not relying on myself at all and totally putting God’s work into God’s hands. God-confidence.

Regardless of your occupation, there’s always an opportunity to help others. When we help others we are planting a seed in their garden and in our own that is guaranteed to come back in bigger ways than we could have imagined.

Share your most recent good deed in the comments below!

    So, what’s the play call?

If you aren’t offended by Paul getting up-close and personal, his words have the potential to change your life. Often we hold the keys to the chains that are holding us. Don’t allow ignorance and a nonchalant attitude to keep you in a cage any longer. Print these scriptures out and ruminate on one scripture per day. Don’t simply look at it, walk away and forget what you read. Think about how you can apply what you’ve read in order to enhance your life. Now, go do great things for the Kingdom!

Bibles & Drones: Swedish Church to Drop Bibles in ISIS Areas

    Photo: Drone Life

An Unconventional Way to Spread the Gospel

Swedish church Livets Ord (Word of Life) announced plans to spread the Word of God and the love of Jesus Christ to ISIS-controlled areas by using drones. According to reports by  SVT, drones will be filled with thousands of Bibles no larger than a pill box. The Bibles will have a display, but do not require any electricity or the use of computers. Bible drops begin as early as this fall, managed by an undisclosed organization based in the area.

    bible drones
Photo by Word of Life. Bible-carrying drones.

Founded in 1983 by Ulf and Birgitta Ekman with only 20 members, Word of Life’s mission is to “go, and make disciples” (Matthew 28:19-20). Currently, the church has a membership of over 3,000, with multiple branches around the world.  According to senior pastor, Joakim Lundqvist, “We are all about missions and reaching the corners of the world with the Gospel, but just as much about reaching the corner closest to home with that amazing and unfailing love of God.

Read Lundqvist’s response to critics and the media on the perception of “Bible-attacks on ISIS”, project timing, other humanitarian efforts, and more.

Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner: The Apostle Paul – Part 1

    dinner

Earlier this week, I was listening to a podcast where the interviewer asked their guest this question:

There are 6 people at the dinner table (including you). Who are your guests?”

Now, I pose this question to you, but first, let me tell you my answer –

    1. Michelle Obama
    2. Oprah
    3. Tracee Ellis Ross
    4. Paul
    5. Michael Jackson

Yes, I said Michael Jackson. Don’t judge my list, okay?

While MJ may come as a shock to you, let me say that he’s always been at the table. But, you know the one person I have recently become enthralled by?

    The Apostle Paul.

    (I know you’re thinking, “It’s a Christian magazine Brandi. Didn’t take a rocket scientist. C’mon!)

Ok! Ok! So, it was an easy guess. But, although I’ve always known Paul was a baaad man (and by bad I mean ah-mazing!), I never realized just how real this dude was! So, in case you’ve been underestimating him, like me, I’m going to share some Paulisms that have been calling me out this past week!

What Would Paul Say at the Dinner Table?

    1. I ask you, “Has the Messiah been chopped up in little pieces so we can each have a relic all our own?” (1 Cor. 1:13-16, MSG)

In the previous verses in this passage, you’ll see that Paul scolds people for fighting over their favorite preacher or teacher. Some were on Paul’s side. Others were behind Peter or ambassadors for Apollos. Paul is saying, “Stop fighting! Are we not all #TeamJesus? Do we not collectively form the body of Christ?”

In what ways have you been so focused on the (seemingly) glaring differences of your sister or brother that you’ve forgotten you’re on the same team? How can you begin to “cultivate a life in common?”

    2. As long as you grab for what makes you feel good or makes you look important, are you really much different than a babe at the breast, content only when everything’s going your way? (1 Cor. 3:1-4, MSG)

Stop acting like a baby! You’re too old for this foolishness. A baby has no self-control. I have an 11-month-old so I know what I’m talking about. She’s only 13 lbs., a tiny little thing, but she can buck, squirm, and holler like you wouldn’t believe when she wants what she wants.

In what areas of life are you demanding your own way and refusing to grow up?

    3. You already have more access to God than you can handle. (1 Cor. 4:7-8, MSG)

This one messed me up a little bit. It made me cock my head to the side, squint my eyes, poke out my lips and say, “What you talkin’ bout, Paul?” If only you and I can grasp the power of our thoughts, words, and prayers within the Kingdom of God. God operates at the level of our faith (Matt. 9:29, ERV).

We become what we believe. How does this change the way you’re thinking right now?

    4. God’s way is not a matter of mere talk; it’s an empowered life. (1 Cor. 4:18-20, MSG)

We (Christians) talk a good game, but if our lives look just as jacked up as an unbeliever’s life, we’re just talking. Following God isn’t an afternoon stroll we take to pass the time. It’s an obstacle course complete with wall climbs, army crawls, and high knees. Our victories are testimonies of who we have become because of who God is. We should be stronger, resilient, out-of-the-box thinkers, peacemakers.

How has following God changed your life? Can others look at you and tell you’ve been with Jesus?

    5. You shouldn’t act as if everything is just fine when a friend who claims to be a Christian is promiscuous or crooked, is flip with God or rude to friends, gets drunk or becomes greedy and predatory. You can’t just go along with this, treat it as acceptable behavior. (1 Cor. 5:9-13, MSG)

“Only God can judge me.” Yep, go ahead and get ready for it because it’s coming. And, while God will judge our hearts (as only He can), we aren’t good friends if we don’t say something when our Christian friends make poor decisions. We should not become so involved, however, that we try to force them to grow. Only God can cause a heart to change and a thing to grow. But, we cannot dim our light nor stop planting good seeds just because someone opposes us.

Have you been encouraging a Christian friend to behave in ways unbecoming of a Christian? Or, have you been ignoring behavior that you know is unacceptable? How can you remind your friend (or yourself) of God’s standards for life in a loving way?

    So, what’s the play call?

It’s time out for playing, Team. We’ve been acting like “we ain’t got no home training”, and in some cases, perhaps we didn’t know any better. But, not knowing better isn’t going to stand up when we come before the ultimate and righteous Judge.

Use your Bible, your church’s resources, and this magazine to nourish your spiritual body. Just like our physical bodies need food and water daily, our spiritual bodies need the Word.

Will the Darkness of Donald Trump Outshine the Light of Christians?

The numbers are staggering. No, blatantly bewildering.  And I almost couldn’t believe the high-profile names in the body of Christ who are supporting Donald Trump for President of the United States.

As Christians, the church, evangelicals – whatever your label for followers of Jesus Christ and the Bible – we are called to be children of light. We follow the Light of the world, in all of His majesty and marvelousness. Our position on darkness? It’s one of gratitude – grateful that God delivered us out of our dark places, and into the light.

So, why are many Christians, including 78% of our white evangelical brothers and sisters, supporting the campaign of Donald Trump?

Actions So Dark, We Can Never Wear Shades

While we’re not here to demonize anyone, Trump makes it all too easy to both recognize and scrutinize his fruit. What does/has Donald Trump produced, and how does/did he go about it?

The young and old alike can see almost daily, dark examples of his behavior. From his disrespect for citizens of color, women, the disabled, Gold Star families, to his vocal positions that benefit some (not all) “law-abiding, hard working Americans”, America and the world can see that this candidate does not have the empathy, temperament, or character expected of an American president.

Why do some Christians rock their shades, and turn a blind eye to the obvious madness that a Trump administration will bring? Let’s see.

    Christian Justifications for Voting Trump

    1. We are anti-abortion/Planned Parenthood.

The go-to “trump” card for most pro-Trump Christians is – “A vote for Hillary kills babies.” Can a person be pro-life and not vote for Donald Trump? I believe so, and I’ll tell you why:

First, when we stand before the judgment and give an account for our actions and words, God is not going to run the reel on someone else’s life and hold us accountable. You and I will not be blamed for the actions of those who abort babies or support abortion legislation. Our duty is to share the Word of God, speak the truth – the hearer must accept it, repent, and work out their own salvation.

Abortion is not a Hillary problem – it’s an America problem.  Under a Trump presidency, will 1, 10, 100 babies still be aborted? Sadly, yes. If Roe vs. Wade is overturned and abortion legislation addressed at the state level, will there be states who still legalize abortion? Yes, there will.

Second, isn’t the hate and bias shown by Donald Trump and the GOP just as murderous as abortion?  The Bible states that “anyone who hates his brother or sister is a murderer at heart.” Now, even if we apply this statement to believers only, is it a stretch that God counts hateful unbelievers just as murderous? Not a stretch at all.

I have not witnessed a loving character from Donald Trump.  To the contrary, his actions display a self-absorbed, unapologetic, vindictive antagonist who will proudly tell you who he can’t stand, or who he wants to assault any day of the week.

Third, I don’t buy into levels of sin. At any other point in time, you’ll hear most Christians say, “there are no big and little sins.” Interesting how this position changes in the world of politics. Now the killings of babies are a bigger sin than hateful hearts, and even the senseless murders of African-American men by the police.

Why is the outcry for sin not equal across the board? I say “cry loud and spare not” for all, not just some.

    1. We are for the family and marriage.

With the Supreme Court passing of Obergefell, which legalized same-sex marriage in all states, many Christians rely on Trump’s promise to appoint judges who will overturn this decision. Really?

I find it striking that in his RNC speech, Trump didn’t mention pro-life (#1) or pro-marriage (as God designed), but made a strategic appeal to the LGBTQ community. Let’s face it, not even Trump can serve two masters.

There will be a winner and a loser in this area. Given Trump’s personal life experience regarding the sanctity of marriage, and his ability to change positions depending on the political benefits, Christians dare not hold their breath in dependence on Trump and “him alone.”

    1. Trump will give us free speech and protect our tax-exempt status.

Ohhh, I got it. It all makes sense now. With the repeal of the Johnson amendment, churches will have “political free speech” and become the newest super PACs – with deep arsenals of the mighty dollar.

Given the over-emphasis on “positive thinking”, and misuse of the “prosperity message” by some churches, would this freedom drive some churches into the bondage of corruption? Just as doctors and teachers don’t have to use their places of work (hospitals, classrooms) to share their views on politics, couldn’t pastors, as American citizens, effectively share their views outside the pulpit?

Like #2, don’t hold your breath on Congress repealing the Johnson amendment. There’s a precedent in our country today that is more anti-Christian than support for Christian views and standards.

    A Non-Spiritual, Common Sense View

Let’s set aside our Christian ideals and Bible quotes for a second. What I find interesting is this: Citizens of America (and the world), who stake no claim to Jesus or the leading of the Holy Spirit, have more discernment than many Christians on Trump’s character.

While being a decent, moral person is not the key to eternal life, citizens with honest, unbiased common sense can see that the character of Donald Trump does not align with the character of the “leader of the free world”.

Why would America elect a person whose words would incriminate him in a workplace discrimination lawsuit, but the same words are “funny” on the presidential campaign trail?

America, are you saying you aren’t great enough to hold your president to a higher standard than the citizens he or she leads?

And what about his mouth? Trump claims that being politically correct “takes too much time”. If political correctness is synonymous to “thinking before you speak” or diplomacy, I tend to think that these tenets actually help get things done, and prevent your words from derailing progress.

“I didn’t mean it” or “I mis-spoke” will only go so far, people. How effective will a President Trump “clean-up crew” be on the international stage? Words can incite violence against Americans. Will there be enough time for President Trump’s interpreters to explain “what he really meant”?

Can America truly remain effective and relevant in a world where countries ponder banning the president from entering the country?  While some Americans may think diplomacy and discretion are passé to Trump’s off-the-cuff, say-what-I-want style, common sense tells us otherwise.

Isn’t this what we teach our children?

Is This Thing On? Listen Up, Team!

Let’s face it, though dark and crude, Trump’s influence on America and Christians is undeniable. It’ll take another article or two to dive into the exposed heart of Americans, the pressure white men feel as their perceived supremacy is threatened by other racial groups, and the spirit of hypocrisy plaguing some in the church.  All of these factors have a connection with the Trump campaign.

But let there be no doubt:  The Light of Christ in us must and will shine brighter than any dark days ahead. That goes for a Trump or a Clinton presidency.

The darkness of tribulation for the church will survive long after this presidential season. So, it behooves us all to keep our eyes and hearts fixed on Christ, follow the leading of the Holy Spirit, and stay dressed in the full armor of God.

    So, what’s the play call?

Let’s be wise with our votes this and all election seasons. Be careful not to focus on poll numbers, which are often used to convince voters that “your vote doesn’t matter; XYZ is going to win.” Let nothing keep you from exercising your right and privilege to vote!

watch pray voteIf you’re not registered to vote, visit our campaign at Watch. Pray. Vote! and register before the end of September. Most state deadlines are between October 1-11th.

And if you’re already registered to vote, sign the pledge to take your light and your faith to the polls!

Remember, those in darkness don’t know where to go. Walk in God’s lit path for you, and you will never be lost – nor will you fall.
